CEBU CITY

A TRUE BLUE SOCIALITE "IT" GIRLS

                                                    ELLEN MERIAM GO ADARNA

It seems that our very own Ellen Adarna has a lot in common with Hollywood's Paris Hilton in that they are both riddled in their younger years. While the latter was tagged as the "hotel heiress," Ellen could be called the "motel heiress!" No malice intended in this provocative title because they have a Queensland Motels.

Unlike Paris though, Ellen worked in her family’s motel business. While most children her age spend summer vacation having fun, she would work the whole day to earn her keep. Ellen said she needs to train for their business. This began she said when she was still in grade school.

                                                 JAYLEEN SOPHIA SY PALANCA

Full smooth lips and alabaster skin. Perfectly parted soft curl that framing on her exquisite face. Former universities sweetheart Jayleen Palanca is a breathtaking, ethereal and fragile sight, like a porcelain doll resting on a velvet pillow. So it was met with slight surprise that, when the radiant cebuana beauty migrated to United States looking likely a caucasian in a foreign land. She is of chinese-spanish descent from a lawyers and business magnet family.

Close ties addresses her as strong-willed, not only found in bold, conquering gestures but on engaging charitable activities. It can be found in her loving heart and a kind word. And this is where the strength of a true lady lies.

                                                 MARGUERITE NICOLE TAYLOR

Marguerite Nicole Taylor or Nikki for short is a Filipino- American and she's having the grandest time of her life of being a model, producer and host for her very own show on Cebu’s local RCTV Channel 36. She’s also a Club DJ spinning in different events and most importantly a junior Marketing Management student at University of San Carlos, Nikki’s got her hands full and she’s not complaining.

Why else would you want to stop when you’re still young and there are a lot of opportunities coming your way?  Surely, this Cebuana-bred chick isn’t the type who’s giving up any time now.

CEBU EXPERIENCE
The Queen City of the South is the capital of the Visayas (also the political, economic, educational and cultural center of the Visayas) and is the second biggest city in the country. Located in between two straits, and several surrounding islands, Cebu is about 225 kilometers long, a narrow island that is home to 2.4 million people.
Cebu is the jump-off point to satellite destinations in the Visayas and Mindanao Islands – Leyte, Samar, Dumaguete, Siquijor, Cagayan De Oro, Camiguin & Surigao Del Norte.

Everybody loves to go to Cebu so there is really no reason why anyone would not want to go there, if given the chance. Although if you want to go to a very quiet, provincial place, you can always go to its neighboring towns such as Bantayan, Badian and Argao.

If you are looking for a place to spend your honeymoon, there are several 5 star resorts nearby. If you are planning a family vacation, you can enjoy parasailing and scuba diving in the island hotels, and you can also go mountain climbing or camping in one of its nature parks. When it is thrill and excitement you long for, it has a one-of-a-kind amusement park that you cannot find anywhere else- the Sky Experience Adventure at Crown Regency. Now, if it is shopping and dining you want, Cebu has it too; a lot of them in fact. Anything which your adventurous and wandering heart desires, you can find it in Cebu.
The Cebuano’s flair for showmanship and love for celebrations is manifested in the Sinulog, a colorful festival of pageant proportion observed every third Sunday of January. Sinulog is a dance ritual in honor of the miraculous image of the Santo Niño. The dance moves two steps forward and one step backward to the sound of the drums. This resembles the current (Sulog) of what was then known as Cebu’s Pahina River. Thus, in Cebuano, they say it’s Sinulog.
